Ring sizing

Does anyone have a good way of sizing a finger for a ring without a commercial ring sizer? I have measured my finger with a tape measure (60mm UK size R) and made a paper ring that seems to fit. The ring I want on Amazon comes in at either a size Q1/2 or S, should I go up or down to one of those sizes-don't want too tight or able to slip off.

Go to a jeweller and pretend you want to buy a ring - they'll measure for you.

If you have a look on some jewellery websites (I think tiffany does it) you can get a ring sizing chart - you just place a ring of yours over the template to find out your size.
