I saw the first xmas ad on the 1st october.

I dont mind that xmas is being mentioned as Im telling my 2 year old that i have to call santa every day to report whether hes been good or naughty.

Its working OK so far.

Im sure i will feel different when hes old enough to hand me his xmas list the day he goes back to school for autumn term lol

Christmas isn't even celebrated for the right reasons any more.
Schools have to produce none-denomination assemblies.
Shops and businesses have to say Happy 'Holidays' instead of Christmas.
Decorations with religious symbols are banned.

Now, I'm not a racist but this country was founded on a Christian basis, which supports christmas. Why shouldn't we be allowed to celebrate it for the reasons it used to be celebrated and not just an excuse to spend too much on unwanted junk that will take you 6 months to pay for.

No idea where in the world you're from sarnieken but 'ere in good old fashioned Lancs we still see "Happy Christmas to all our customers..." sings in shops and we can still buy religious themed decorations if you wished.

I adore Christmas, and the run up (even starting in October) as far as I'm concerned it just builds up the anticipation for when HE brings me my pressies.

I live near Wakefield at the moment but I've learnt of these changes on national news over the last few years.

I also love Christmas and can't wait to spend the first one with my wife and then next year with my child.

done properly it can make all the cr*p from the year worth it.

Like you sarnieken I've seen and read these news item, but I've yet to actually witness this happening round here.

And yes, having kids does make a difference to how you feel at Crimble. MIni Boo will be 3 then and knows al about HIM already and gets all giddy when she sees HIM on an advert. I'm afraid it just makes me go all gooey with emotion seeing her excited about it.

Have a good one anyway- and congrats on the impending arrival of mini sarnieken :-)
