Christmas

What on earth can I give as a present......

To an elderly friend in a Care Home who is over 90, virtually blind, very deaf, and almost immobile. He's unable to drink alcohol, doesn't like chocolates or biscuits and cannot listen to audio books.

Try something tactile perhaps, like a velvet scarf or blanket. Or something that will offer a lovely scent, such as a bowl of hyacinths or a delicious aftershave.

Get yourself a present while your'e at it because a person such as yourself who can even bother asking about your friend deserves some kind of reward even though your'e not after recognisition. A modern day saint and God bless ya !!!

If I get to be that old I might start experimenting with drugs.

I guess you might get into trouble helping him in that way!

What about a nice warm dressing gown.
Or even a pair fo warm slippers.
You said his mobility was poor but he still has to go, or be taken for baths etc.

i used to work in a care home and found things like shaving gel, soap, bath foam and that type of thing was a great gift because silly as it may seem most of the old people didnt really know what day it was and at that time of life didnt really need anything, but personal stuff like i said made them feel good and smell nice and special and something that was always needed

OMG Gravitate - the poor soul might kick the bucket with all that excitement. On the other hand, he may go out with a smile on his face. :-)
