Question is:- What number ends this sequence: 4747 784 224 16 ?

It looks to be a power sequence of some sort, but I can't spot it for the moment. Certainly they are either squares or almost squares which might be some sort of clue.
4 x 7 x 4 x 7 = 784 7 x 8 x 4 = 224 2 x 2 x 4 = 16 1 x 6 = 6
4747 is the number of this week's Sunday Times prize cryptic crossword.
