These read like exam questions. May I suggest a good text book? Try 'Principles of Neural Science' by Kandel, Schwartz, & Jessell. Was useful for me for neuroscience.

How many months' worth of course work have you got to catch up on?
If you do need to ask so many questions it would be better to combine them in fewer postings. At the moment all your questions are relegating other people's questions off the page.
