How about:
Venus is very hot
It's second closest to the sun
It's sometimes known as the morning star
But oceans it has none
OK folks, I know its pathetic and I won't give up the day job but my excuse is this lovely vintage port.

If I had the time, I'd gladly write one for you - but I'm a bit busy atm. I'm sure you'll get loads of replies!

How about this to go with the Prof's Venus
Mercury is closest
It's size is very slight.
It's boiling in the daytime
and freezing cold at night
Anybody else waiting for the Uranus verse?
lol Chuck.
Earth's the one we live on.
The only one we can.
It's home to all known lifeforms
Both animal and man.
Ok I guess this is your homework so we shouldn't really help but.....
Mars is after Earth
It's ground is very red
And if you were to land there.
You'd very soon be dead.
Jupiter's the largest
It has a big red spot
It's really made of gas
but is certainly not hot.
This is kind of fun actually.
Saturn's famous features
are all its giant rings
It's the second largest planet
It has moons and other things.
Come one another-view. It's 3-2 to me now :-)
And now comes Herchel's Uranus
It's seventh from the Sun
It's rocks and ice and helium
The rest is hydrogen
Uranus was discovered in 1781
Seventh from the sun and gaseous
It's not your sit-upon.
Neptune gets its name from
The Roman God of Sea.
It's far away from the Sun
and very cold you see.
Pluto is the furthest
It's really rather small
It has a moon called Charon
And now we've done them all!
They've thrown out poor Pluto
Perhaps it was too small;
It has a moon called Charon
And is furthest of them all.
