hi, can anyone tell me if bogies contain DNA?? i was having a debate with a friend a few weeks ago and it has troubled me ever since as we could not come to a decision. please help!

Yes, bacteria contain DNA.
Bogies contain bacteria.

Your bogies will have your DNA in them as well. Its mostly water and secretions and stuff thats meant to kill the bacteria. There's a fairly good chance that on its way out it could pick up the odd dead cell from your respiratory tract. Don't know if you could get a DNA ID from a bogie left at a crime scene but anything's possible.

Yes, bogies do contain DNA. Bacterial DNA and DNA acquired from the human subject can be told apart relatively easily as the DNA from the former contains loops and/or tangles of a single circular DNA molecule whereas the latter is in the form of pieces.
