Does anybody know if it is ok to use pipe lagging on hot water pipes?

Of course it is! The whole idea of lagging is to prevent heat loss, 1) on cold pipes so they don't freeze, and, 2) on hot pipes so you don't lose heat to where you don't need it. Its the same reason you put a jacket on a hot water tank.
