Repelling EM Waves

Seeming an electromagnetic wave is made of and eletrical part and a magnetic part and and something electrical can be repelled and something magnetic can be repelled, is it possible to repel an EM wave. If that makes any sense. Please not reflection i mean repel.

How do you differentiate between reflection and repulsion?

Reflection is like hitting an object, eg mirror. Repulsion is like a field (not an object). I'm thinking more along the idea of fields. Like stopping gamma rays kinda. I know lead slows it down but is there a way of repelling it. Soz lots of thoughts in no order.

OK. Well in answer to your question anyway, It's not really possible. It would mean having to trap photons, which is a very tricky task. If you could set up a field that trapped them, then you'd pretty much have a lightsabre on your hands ;)
