What is the deal with Binary Code?

Can anyone explain the principal for a dullard? (moi!)

Somewht over simplified, but... if you are ducated in most modern coutries, you think in base 10. That is, all mathmatics rely on a primary division of 10. However, computers rely only on base 2. There are only 1's (ones) and 0's (zeros) used to construct all the files and data available on computers. Binary = 2. Here is a site that explains how it all works...

Computers can only use binary .So no binary , no computers!!
That's brilliant Loosehead! Must remember that.
im sure that a computer system could be created that uses more than 2 digits. in that case though all of the hardware and software would have to be made from scratch to accomodate the code. it wouldnt make any difference to anything anyway
