An impressive breakthrough - still lots of hurdles before it can be commercially viable, but potentially very valuable.

It does beg the question of whether de-salination (by whatever method) is encouraging settlement and/or development in areas which are just not suitable though?
The Irish found the solution to the water shortage, they are going to dilute it.

i don't fully understand the science behind this, however anything that can cause water to be drinkable is a good thing for the millions who suffer from a shortage of water.
Interesting. But if the folk in need of water lived by the sea, it is already possible to build desalination plants isn't it ?
