and I think that is what you have been asked to calculate

so you find out the volume of water displaced - and its weight - and that is the upthrust ( vol and weight are connected by density )

re read your chapter on hydrostatics
Why does an air bubble rise in water when gravity should pull it downwards ? Think of the denser water around the air bubble descending as the less dense air rises.
