I now try explain this best as I can:

For example, Let’s say that there is two guys Tommy and Andrew. They both have heard their other friend Simon talk. They all have other friend, Frank. Andrew thinks that Frank totally sounds like Simon. Tommy thinks that totally not.

How that is possible?

Why do you ask?

Its long story.. + For intreast
Because hearing like all other senses depends to a degree on perception and the individual. Easy example - I hate brussel sprouts....to me they taste incredibly bitter, to others they are delicious.
Auditory transmissions vary for a number of reasons including ear canal structure - just as people see colours differently.
I suspect the processing within the brain is subtly different. Some sounds are minimised by the brain and not paid close attention to, whilst others are exaggerated and thus more easily spotted as different.

This explains why some language groups can not seem to detect error in the way they speak a foreign language; an obvious example is the oriental difficulty in hearing a difference between 'r' and 'l'.

Surely this must play a smaller part in what closer individuals hear. One hears the similarities in the third party easily and doesn't detect the differences, the other is more attuned to hearing the differences, and doesn't notice the similarities.

Okay, story is this:

On 1997, somebody called Art Bell’s show and claimed he worked in Area 51 :

He returned in 1998 again to declare its hoax:

I'm now asking, do they sound alike? I have seen both side of views and can't really say.. Does anyone have like a voice analyzing software or something to find this out?
Oh who cares?

Thing is also that, I think their voices are really similar, but I have seen folks saying other.. How that's possible?

It doesn't really matter, does it? This is scientists for you - mostly well-meaning and they do push up some useful stuff from time to time, but t.b.h. we pay too much attention to them, sweet and persevering though they are.
I am not sure if this is true

forty years ago or so
they played recordings of Harold wilson - whom you wont know
and recordings of John Bird whom you also dont know mimicking Harold Wilson to listeners, and they could not tell the difference

Machine voice analysis took a big hit on that

or to put it another way

People who made a living sounding like Margaret Thatcher
really did sound like Margaret Thatcher
has anyone else also notice that people who have the same basic head shape often sound similar? ....which i guess makes mechanical sense.

One more thing wonders me.. Even if there would be differences with voices, couldn't guy who made that prank change his tone of voice for that? And could it be shown on software as different?
Not to fool audio analysis. Maybe to fool some people. But the shape of their voice related body parts remain the same, as do resonances etc.

Personal opinions?
Question Author
I myself can't use analyzer..
Question Author
I read from some Reddit forum that someone's friend has done voice analysis and voices didn't match.. Not sure is he telling truth or not..
Us neither. That's what makes for mysteries, and generates conspiracy theories.
Question Author
Can anyone here use voice analyzer to see what we can get?

P. S, could really good actor get those kind of softwares rigged if he/she changes tone of voice enough?
