Help! Tippex spill

I've just spilled half a bottle of tippex over my hand. Scrubbing with soap and water has done nothing for it. How can I clean it off my hand please?

crap over it; excretia is wonderful at cleaning tippex off things.
Try baby oil - or have you got one of those wire scrubber things? It will come off!
Use that method a lot do you DT:-(
I'm pretty sure cazzy that you would have a bottle of nail varnish remover at home. Nail varnish remover consists of mostly acetone and this will do the trick nicely. Just soak a paper towel in the remover and scrub your hand vigorously with the stuff. Only use soap and water after the tippex has been removed
If you leave it alone it will be gone in a couple of days.
well the logic is that your hand is so disgusting that you have to use loads of piping hot water and a good detergent and after five minutes, "voilà" the Tippex flakes away........

Can't do that HowardKennitby. I'm working over the next couple of days. Need it off tonight!
Yes I can see that logic DT. Makes sense. X

No baby oil, but I do have nail varnish remover. will give it a try.
try the nail varnish route seriously, or let your hand soak in hot water for ten minutes then a scrubber.
How did you do it?
Nice idea DT crosswordfan. Unfortunately, it won't work. Tippex is insoluble in water no matter how disgusting anything you put on top of it is. Detergent is useless as the OP found. Tippex does not "flake away"

Yippee, the nail varnish remover trick works. Many thanks Prof. I thought I'd be off to work in the morning with a glove on my hand! Thanks again.
was going to suggest gin or voddie as an alternative to nail varnish remover....glad you are back to normal and not blanked out any longer.
Ethanol in Gin or Vodka are is virtually useless for this purpose DTcrosswordfan. Polar, aprotic solvents are best and acetone is the most likely candidate someone will have at home.
Mind you, I'd have to rethink an answer if it was a bloke that made the original post! Fortunately most women have nail varnish remover at home.
I spilt some on my wooden polished desk at work years ago so took nail varnish remover in the next day, not even thinking it would strip the varnish off too ........... they were not impressed!
