European Health Insurance Card

Expired yesterday. Renewed online yesterday, but website just says that card will be sent in 10 days. No helpline until Monday.
Is the renewal valid today?

You don't need to have an EHIC to be covered by it. Because you are entitled to public healthcare here you are covered in other EEA states. If you need a doctor and you haven't a card with you, you can ring the number on the back of the card and a cover note can be faxed over. Take insurance as well. It doesn't cover private hospitals or doctors, or repatriation.
