Went tonight to our local methodists church's annual panto. It was so bad it was funny! It was the first night so they didn't know their lines. A friends four children were in it, at the interval they told us they were treating it as a dress rehearsal. They made jokes on stage about not knowing lines. At one point man playing king came out the door into the auditorium, stood for a moment, scratched his head and went back on stage and said for a moment I thought I was stood down there. Little boy with Down's syndrome who is in it every year and is always a menace kept throwing his headdress off into the audience. Refusing to leave the stage and having to be dragged off stage. He also kept opening the curtains before they were ready. Prompter got so fed up she resorted to just pointing at people to indicate they were due to speak.
If I go next year I must remember to not go on first night.
Mind full marks for effort, I couldn't do it.

LOL, that sounds great Caran.
Wish I'd gone !
"It was so bad it was good".

I've seen a couple of shows like that. Laughed like a drain. One was on a cross-channel ferry when I was taking a party of children to France. They thought I was drunk because I couldn't stop laughing at the dire performance.
Lol, sounds wonderful, Caran! I did lots of am-dram pantos, while none were quite that chaotic, they had their fair share of bloopers. The best way round them was to get the audience involved, I recall. Ah, happy days... :-)
