Well it seems that 'our' Katie has stepped up to the oche and self self-appointed herself 'interim Prime Minister'.

/// You can focus on a piece of graffiti on a Polish community centre and talk about it all you want. It doesn’t make Leave voters racist. ///

/// Just as blaming old people for voting leave doesn’t make you ageist does it? It just makes you very bloody ungrateful to the generations who fought twice for the peace that even makes the EU possible. ///

/// Someone has got to step up and fill the void - and here I am! ///

/// As the self-appointed interim Prime Minister, I’m laying out my road-map for Boris to follow when he finally wakes up, stops feeling bad about winning and realises it is his time to Serve to Lead, as the Sandhurst motto goes. ///

Oh dear, let's get it right 'Churchill'.
He isn't.
Boris is quite statesman like and dignified in my opinion especially in the face of the gauntlet of abuse he had to face from the sulky bunch the other morning. My best ticket Boris leading the conservatives and Hilary Benn Labour the latter being more in touch with what is needed from a modern Labour party to be a credible opposition.
Why would he have to prove he is the new Churchill? We are not at war.
ooooooh yes
Why is he going to start selling insurance when May gets the leadership?
Is that the same Boris who was saying in February that we should vote out and then have a second referendum to vote in again on improved terms?

Really?
I never thought I would see Churchill and Boris in the same sentence !

Whatever else he is, Boris will never be another Churchill.

/// Why is he going to start selling insurance when May gets the leadership? ///

If May gets the job, we might just need insurance, or should that be 'assurance'?
He may not be the new Churchill but he is the new Thatcher inasmuch as he seems to inspire blind devotion and loathing in equal measure.
Jack...can't disagree with you here !
One thing Boris has got in common with Churchill is that they both have a strong grasp of history and of British and European culture, which few politicians seem have.
