I am struggling with this one as well.
5a - outset.
26a - sid les.
11d - lotuses are bloomers i.e. flowers.
23a - I have si?e. 7d is thoughtless.
16a - I have a??u??h. see thoughtless.
it could be anguish or Anouilh(Jean, french author)but
I can't see how either fits the clue.
This compiler gets more ridiculous every week.

I have s?d??e. It looks like it could be sedate meaning slow,
but again I can't see the relevance to the clue.

Yes, I've gone for sedate, but not a lot of sense to it. I'm thinking TAD far a little and SEE being the vessel as in carrier
