I've been Googling this question but can't come to a decision. What date is the Twelfth day of Christmas? I know it is either the 5th or 6th of January

Yep, apparently Twelfth Night is the evening of the 5th but Twelfth Day is the 6th of Jan.

6th jan - the Epiphany

I thought it was the 6th January (Epiphany).
Twelve days AFTER Christmas. Your Christmas decorations have to be down by this date.
It also depends on which religion you are and also which country you are from.
Epiphany is a Christian feast day but Western Christian Churches and Eastern Christian Churches have different traditions as to what the day commemorates.
