I would go for bauble. It seems more christmassy than trifle

I would opt for bauble

my dictionary has trifle - anything of little importance or value - which seems to best fit the clue
to add to the fun it has bauble - a trifling piece of finery

Bauble does it for me

and for even more fun..my dictionary has trinket : a small ornament or piece of jewellery: any paltry object...hmmm....after a slight swither, I'm still in favour of bauble:o)
