Early again, I know, but I'm here, so strike while the iron's hot or something along those lines!!!

So when ever the early riser is ready with the matches, we're already to go.

I'll come back at a more reasonable hour and see how we're doing.........................bye for a bit S

Aq has been struck off in his prime Steff - I think he said he had answered too many questions so his account was suspended. I can't help my paper isn't here yet. :-((

Could be Nutmeg Grill!
Google recognises a Nutmeg Grill in Hong Kong, Conneticut and Torrington.

I think under the circumstances I will delay posting this weeks results until we've extricated Aquagility from his own little Coventry - while I can't remember all of his links I know that he had Bermuda Shorts as one selection and as that entry has now vanished, I shall endeavour to contact him and also AB Ed with a view to having him restored to his rightful position.

Trust everyone will be happy with this arrangement - I'll have the scores up asap - lots of points all round so a good start to the month...........back shortly S

That's very kind, Steff. But do please carry on because although I guessed three words correctly it will be my only entry this month - so of no significance.

This post may not appear - it's more of a test really!

Surely the people on this site are here to help others - Aquagility has been a great help to me since I joined. Banning him again is like saying Man Utd cant play football for a while. If the connection forecasts are corrrect I seem to have scored on all counts which makes up for zero on MM connections.

Following message from Aquagility for attention of seekeerz

Would someone please post a request to Steff (seekeerz) to carry on with the KM results?
No one knows how long I shall be in the bin, and as this will be my only entry this month my score will not affect the overall result.

Aquagility has sent a message for you to carry on with the scoring Seekeerz...as he will be away for a bit so the score won't matter to him.

So you can carry on!!

Is it me or was this the easiest Herculis ever! I think it took me all of five minutes to complete. Don't say they are dumbing down the crosswords as well as the rest of the paper. And why did we have massachusetts two days running?

Question Author

Having just checked the Saturday's post and found that as yet the AB Ed has not seen fit to reinstate AQ, I shall accept the instructions to go ahead with this weeks scoring in Aq's absence.

cliffyg made an excellent start to the new month predicting three out of the possible four matches and collecting 6 points.

Dizzy Lizzie was right behind with two correct matches for 4 points, while centrino collected the bonus points for Bermuda Shorts plus 2 more for good guesses also for 4 points

The 'good guess' department was very busy with devadiva managing what few others have - a clean sweep of all four matches correct and a bonus of two more points for the achievement = 6points

sarumite, freebi2, Jim, x-ray, jobjockey & Cleocima all scored three points, while lysander, patchett, Mrs E, Chiefpanda, Judith, chriss, Elspeth, twosearch, wickedtongue, Mr O, & paulineward collected two points to open their tally for the new month and a further 23 entrants did likewise with one point each.

So at the start the Leader Board reads like this -

6 points - cliffyg & devadiva

4 points - Dizzy Lizzie & centrino

this could be another of those months !!!

Congratulations to all the points scorers and we'll be back to do it all again next weekend.......bye for now S

Thanks Steff.
Sorry to hear about Aqua, how can one be suspended for answering too many questions - I thought that was what this site was for.
I think we would all like to thank him for his excellent work on the AnswerBank and hope he is returned to us soon.
By the way Steff - you have credited me with 3 points and I believe I only got 2 right.
Congratulations to cliffyg and devadiva...great start

Well! I'm back. I don't know why or how - no email from the Ed, and of course they don't answer their phone - but thanks to all those of you who said such kind things.

Now, to take up pollythecat's point. Not only did I find the Herculis wearily simple, I thought that today's cryptic was hardly worthy of the name. And ,have you noticed, the DT has even taking to explaining the pun formed at the start of the Quick Crossword.

Talk about dumbing down!
