Sat. Telegraph crossword 25,715

24d seems to be ENDUE. Is this right? If so, why? Is it something to do with taking R out of the river Ure? Not sure if "endue" means supply, or am I on the wrong track completely?! Any suggestions please?

Endure is to last. Romove R (river) and you get ENDUE

which is supply
