Codecracker in Pick me up Issue 28, july 17th

Hi, can anyone offer any help on puzzle 5 -the codecracker - in this weeks pick me up (issue 28, july 17th)? Let me know some letters if poss? I can't even seem to begin this one when normally I whizz through them! Using the letters given we have two partial words..
VI--I-- and -addi- and the last letter of the V..word is the first letter of the -addi- word. I've tried to use a crossword solver to help but none of the suggested words fit. The final answer is " A LEGAL PAPER" and is 8 letters long.

I think the final word was Contract if my memory serves me correctly .
This is last weeks magazine though ?

Hi, yes, you're right - it was last weeks. I bought it on Thursday morning, which is when the new mags are usually on the shelf, but saw a new one there yesterday. Obviously, they hadn't re-stocked when I went in. The answer was contract too - I managed to work it out -although it took me all afternoon. Thank you for your help!
