pick me up issue 27

hello, can anyone help me? i am stuck on 5 down of the crossword. the clue is: restraining (9). i have some letters but i think i have made a pigs ear of it and will only confuse. any help?

me again, i am not sure, it may be but that means i have got the others wrong. duh! the third letter is also the third letter of this clue: leave hurriedly B_ _ _ lE, OFF. if you cannot help, i will try again as i know it is getting abit complicated
