Hi Mathsteacher!

I've seen your plea for help on this quiz earlier and it's not that I don't want to help .... I can't !

I wonder if you'd give us a couple of examples that you have solved. It helps to see how the setter's mind works. And perhaps any other relevant info ... countries are countries - that's OK - I understand what I'm looking for there, but I'm not sure what you mean by 'cities etc' . Are they all big cities that we will have heard of, or are they a bit more obscure?

48 reminds me of 'The rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain' from My Fair Lady

Sorry, when we write things it often comes over the wrong way, and I thought you'd taken my flippant little attempt at humour seriously.

Yes, I went through egg, cheddar, and all that, but I think Orlando fits best. It's a shame you don't know the number of letters you're looking for. It makes it so much more difficult.

No. 26. I wonder if it's an anagram of a place that begins with O apostrophe?

How about California for no 48 - remember the song?

Seems it never rains in Southern California
Seems I’ve often heard that kind of talk before
It never rains in California but girl don’t they warn ya
It pours man it pours

Also re no 8 - found this question on another website, but unfortunately it hadn't been answered there either! However, all of that particular quiz were placenames in Britain and the answer has 7 letters. What do you think of Belleek in N. Ireland???!

Hope this all helps!
