I've traveled all thjrough scotland in my mind and have no thoughts, except daftish ones. Stirling (as in sterling, money, accountant). There is a place called Lanark and New Lanark. They are the only things remotely connected to the clue. Do you have any ideas???

Thank you both very much for your answers. Can you explain the Dollar one to me - I realise there is lar from lark but where does the accountant come in - sorry for being so thick!!!

Isn't it Caerlaverock? It's a place/castle beside Dumfries somewhere. CA for accountant, ER for hesitates, laverock is an old name for a lark.
