cat is skimbleshanks but is city glasgow or newcastle-there's a gallowgate in both!

Pretty sure it's Glasgow. The mail train ran from London to Glasgow.

Skimbleshanks went to Carlisle and then Dumfries, so I expect the cat went on to Gallowgate in Glasgow (Newcastle would be the other direction?).
