Is this the obvious !!! I think I'm on the wrong track as they are only known by their initials. I am blinkered at the moment and can't think of anything else !

Joanne Rowling is J K Rowling which is who I assume you were thinking of.
I think it is Joanne Rowling. If you look back to 2000 they have her listed as Joanne K Rowling. could be wrong though

Thanks for the proverb, I was nowhere near with that one.
Rowling was my thought. Just assumed she would be JK for the answer.
