How many people who submitt questions for the MOS Xword do you think actually submitt.?

Does everyone who submitts answers send in the xword?

I won it 4 months ago, so know it is genuine!!

Send it in nearly every week, and never win!

I do and submitt the MOS, Radio Times, the Azed , Mephisto every week and the Saga xword every month. Have done for a very long time now, over a year and as of yet have never won. Have won a few trade compettions in the past but they don't come up very often these days so I stick to xwords.

What's the secret of your success? I've been sending it in virtually every week for fourteen years & I'm still waiting!!! I've now sunk to the depths of submitting it in my wife's name as she seems to be luckier than me!

I submit various competition entries weekly and never seem to win a thing. When I was single I thought it was because I had a long foreign surname but then I got married and my luck hasn't changed! I know what you mean sire, I've started entering in others' names in case they are luckier!

I do.I submit the DT cryptic on Saturday and have done for donkeys years. Never won a thing. I also submit the Express on Sunday and Monday ,the DT GK, Herculis, MOS,Radio Times,Saga,Generalist.,FTPolymath and cryptic and subscribe to and submit Lovatts .Plus I do several magazine ones..Chat ..Take a Break etc.Never won a thing. Only one or two prizes from Lovatts..M&S vouchers and a dictionary.
I did submit a crossword in our local parish magazine recently and won a smoothie maker !

Interesting stuff. Having won once, I of course now send in in my daughters name as there is a cat in hells chance of winning twice under the same name.

Not sure about the validity of the You Xword, - why don't they publish winner's names ?!?!

Anyway, we will all keep trying I guess Good luck.

I did win the You crossword once some time ago but wouldn't you know it - I'd used my son's name. He was an impoverished student at the time; I didn't have the heart to tell him to hand it over. I have won one or two of the well-known ones but the 'big' ones seem to elude most of us. I'll keep trying though.

the real winners of all these xwords is the royal mail. what it must cost us all in postage i can't imagine!!!!

Just boasting , but I have won prizes in the following : The Generalist, runner-up in DT GK, The Guardian Saturday x3, E.V. x3, The Spectator X4, The Week x1, Saturday Independent magazine x3, Times Jumbo x1. Admittedly that's over a period of 20 years or more !! And, as elderly has said it has cost me a fortune in stamps !!!!
