The answer to 8ac God put wind beneath it is Saturn apparently. I cannot see how you parse this however. Could someone help me. Thanks.

I can't help other than saying it could be wind as in wind the bobbin up, thus turn at the end?
Saturn (God) = turn (wind pronounced whined) + Sa = Sex Appeal = IT
The SA bit got me!
don't get ANY of that !! lol
yes -hi Tilly - I have noticed that SA is being used for "it" quite a bit lately and in a variety of crosswords.
Good morning ,Minty XXOOXX
Thanks for that, JJ. I'll try to remember. :-)
Morning Donny XX..OO..XX..OO..
Until you mentioned wind, Tilly, I was pursuing local names for breezes so was miles away. Good clue and excellent answer from JJ.
ah..get it now !!! not a breeze but wind as clock
Common practice to use words which have more than one pronunciation. Most people at first glance would read it as wind (gust) rather than wind (turn). Flower to mean river rather than bloom is frequently used.
...or bobbin...:-)
wee tinkers them compilers ! lol
