Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

hi all, bit of a strange one
I'm trying to find out the year 'YOUR SUNSHINE COMPETITION' was run. It was featured in the following shops - LIPTON MAYPOLE FROST MARKDOWN HOME & COLONIA DUNCAN VYE BROUGHS HADRIAN BUYWISE

the prizes were
8 colour tv sets
16 tv portables
16 tape recorders
and 'lots more prizes'
all television supplied by DECCA

If anybody can help it would be fantastic (if only for my sanity!)its driving me nuts now and running out of ways to find out

Not at all certain but colour TV took hold, for a few around, 1994/5. Home and Colonial were still in existence then,as were George Mason. Others who have better memories will no doubt respond

thank you, nobody has as yet and I have tried googling pretty much everything and got nowhere. hoping somebody has a flash of inspiration that has eluded me

I'm pretty sure Hadrian and Duncan were long gone before 1994.

I thought colour to sets were before 1990 but not certain

Colour TV came out in 1967, so that's your starting date. From the shop names and prizes I'd say you were looking at something between 1967 and 1974.

The problem with that is that although colour broadcasting began in 1967 it was only on BBC2. Only in 1970 did BBC1 and ITV start colour broadcasts so the guy couldn't have watched Dixon of Dock Green and the moon landing in colour.

£300 in 1970 equates to over £4,400 in 2014. A lot of money.
