£22, I wouldn't blame them if they didn't wear it and I don't think they should feel that they have to go overboard.
I'm sure many willwear the Poppy, that scarf is a pretty way to show support too.

There are lots of Poppy related items to raise both awareness and money.
What's the problem AOG? You've often said muslims should make more effort to distance themselves from extremism and demonstrate loyalty to their country - isn't this one way of doing just that?
great idea, we don't see much of that head gear round here but I'll look out for it.

I may be in a minority here, but I find using The Poppy as a fashion accessory offensive in the same way I find using our Union Flag as clothing, bed covers or even doormats to be offensive!
I take your point baldric but I think in this case it's not a fashion accessory, they'd be wearing it anyway, just a neat way of showing support.
I think it looks nice.
yeah... and everyone must eat poppy-seed bread

and smoke opium ... well OK not the last one
Well the British Legion think it's OK - they do T Shirts,Jackets,Rugby Shirts and ties to name a few , all bearing the Poppy.
I think it's a wonderful idea.

A popy can be easily missed.

The headscarf is a big bold statement, especially as it is associated with traditional Muslim dress - it acts as a mute defiance of reactionary bigots who burn poppies and similar.

So any Muslim woman who wears one will gain my respect for making a stand.
She'd gain more respect from me if she only wore a headscarf when it was windy or raining.
Oh dear.
Surely a poppy is enough?

Not for many.

Take the top rated response on the story:

"All well and good but more Muslims need to speak out and show a stand against these extremists. Starting with their local imams."
If they want a start to make amends, this is one way to start integration & try to heal some sort of rift, they have the chance here, will it be taken?
A poppy, and a donation, is enough to show one's opinion and sympathies, but attendance at the local war memorial would be even better and build plenty of bridges.
Funny you should post the DT, when my late Father was Chairman of our local British Legion ,I accompanied him to a ball (some presentation thing) I wore a dress with Poppies on it.
There's a number of them if you google 'dress with poppies,' mamya. Bet you had many positive comments for wearing the dress that evening....
Yes I recall I did, fely very special in it.
Well, I always wear a poppy and have purchased two from the Tower of London exhibition - but I think this is a good thought, well meant.
