Push.
It is 2am on a cold wet night and I hear a knock on the door,I ignore it but it is repeated. Eventually I put on a dressing gown and go down to open the door. There is a cold wet guy standing there, '' sorry '', he says '' I know it's late but can you give me a push?''
I tell him to' '*** off'' shut the door and go back to bed.
My wife asks what happened and I tell her the story.
She is very annoyed that I did not help
'' He could have a sick child in the car and needs to get to hospital'' she says.
I go back outside it is pouring down and pitch black, I can see nothing.
I shout out '' Where are you? do you still need a push?''
A faint voice answers me from the darkness '' I'm over here on the swing !''
