I started doing cryptics in the mid 1970s but can't remember how long it took me to solve them more often than not. But I do remember saving the clues until the following day so that I could try to work out how the answers were derived.

More sound advice for which I am grateful- I also enjoy finding/working out how each answer was derived-it just seems a long time to wait until next Monday until I find out the answer to certain troublesome clues-Thank you once again
