Guide Dogs for the Blind Quiz - A Song and Dance Quiz

Clues please, as I am stuck on these last two ..

Answers are dances. No number of letters given.

1. A valley and a river
2. A military male in a hurry (think this must be some sort of march or perhaps quickstep!)

Many thanks in anticipation of some helpful clues...!

Thanks horselady, I've not heard of that one before. That seems to fit very well.
This is a bit loose - Valeta is a danc to waltz music

Vale = valley
Wat Ta Yom = a River in Thailand - possibly the "ta" part is the name is the word that means "River"

Wow, thanks for that one, Vivkins3, I'd never have thought of anything like that! I've just found a 'Ta' river in Virginia, USA on the t'interweb. (I did wonder whether there was a Scottish dance called Glen (for valley) something but I couldn't find anything online!)
No 1. Could be Strathspey
No 2, Dashing White Sergeant

Thanks skinnymalink - I think you could be right about 'strathspey' - I have now learnt from a quick search of t'interweb that 'Strath' is a Scottish name for a river and of course there is the River Spey.
(I should have remembered that Mrs Braid's Guide Dogs quizzes usually need a bit of local Scots knowledge for one or two clues!)
