Thank you to both Mazie and Bulliver for your help. I only ask for clues on AB as I sometimes seem to get abuse from some ABers for asking for answers!

Hi,denquiz, I've never seen anyone getting abuse for asking questions on this site.Sometimes the setter requests that help should not be asked for until a certain date-nearer the closing date- and an ABer will draw attention to this. Can't understand anyone asking for help when they've two or three months to try to figure the answers out for themselves.

Hi quinie, in the past I've had someone have a go at me on several occasions for asking for an answer to a charity quiz on the site as they thought that I should not be doing so, that I should just send in my entry with the answer blank and just support the charity. Perhaps that person has stopped doing that now. It put me off using AB for a bit.

I always wait until the very last minute near the closing date before asking for help (especially if the quiz setter has asked us to do this) and would not do so if the quiz setter either says they don't want us to ask for help on websites. I am aware there are some ABers who are a bit too keen to get answers when there are ages to go before the closing date and I agree that if you have the quiz for a few months you should really try and give it a go on your own before asking for help!

Hence why I always ask for clues but if people wish to give me answers too that is okay, it is of course up to them!

i,denquiz, you're right whenyou say that some setters don't make that request. I'm sorry someone had a go at you, but I'm glad it didn't put you off asking for help. The ABers are mostly all very kind, helpful people . Anyway good luck with the quiz.
