Thanks for the sarcasm all - nice friendly site !!!
I thought I already had this clearly doesn't work as I expected!
Nasty lot, they are, daisy. Just tell me the question and ignore them.
The answers were probably tongue in cheek. Could you now put the full clue, letter numbers and any placed in the same way as your last reply ? Welcome to Answer Bank.
Welcome, daisy. Did you type the clue and letter count in the Enter further Question Details here box (the same box you where you typed "I think I know it but I can't understand why?".

thank you
Full stop
Will you give us the letter count and any placed, please?
A period is the American equivalent of a full stop,
And what was the letter count (and pattern) and your suggested answer?
(I'm not sure where it could have gone as there is only a title box and a question box, but judging by the number of partial clues/missed letter counts at weekends there is clearly a problem on some devices/browsers)
Full stop seems perfect if it is 4,4
