Went to the chemist to get some cream to relieve the itching from mosquito bites. The pharmacist sold me some cream saying I could use it three times a day. (I'm in Malta at the mo)

In a moment of boredom I read the leaflet. It says "do not use more than twice daily or for longer than three days"

I've been using it for the last week!!

It's histergan cream and its produced by a firm in the UK.

Does anyone know why I shouldn't continue using it?

oh well, use sparingly but watch out for any reactions I guess. If you find you can't go out in the sunlight any more then the cream will have turned you into a zombie.

I love the bit where it reads 'wash hands after applying unless it's the hands which are being treated'

Has the cream helped? I take it that it's just small areas which are being dabbed with the cream?

If you haven't had adverse reactions, and it's helping, I'd carry on, but that's just a personal opinion.
See ? Nothing good comes of reading.
Hope a doc or pharmacist arrives soon.
If it's working ummmm, don't worry. The leaflets always give the worst case scenario to cover themselves in the event of a court case. If you feel or see some kind of adverse reaction, then stop, Otherwise carry on if it helps.
it may just mean don't apply to the same bites or the same area for more than two days. Maybe if it isn't working you should try something else?

It's working. It's actually really good. The bites are mainly round my ankles with a few scattered round the rest of me, including my face, the little bleeders!!
