Seems like a replay of the plot of Equus to me. Someone needs to find this mentally disturbed individual before he strikes again.
This world is the way it has been for centuries. Sick minded people have always been around.
Again we struggle to find rational reasons for irrational horrors, and again we have to give up, because they do not exist.
i bet i'm not the only one that can't bear to click on the link :-(
It seems uncannily similar to a recent drama about Arthur Conan Doyle played by Martin Clunes. Same evil disfigurement of a horse. I hope TV is not responsible for this sikkos crime.
Clearly an absolute nutter.

Once found I shall be very interested to see if he has any previous.
They should be looking for two people -one could not do this on their own.
A quick google shows this has happened many times before.
retrocop - "I hope TV is not responsible for this sikkos crime."

I don't think TV, or music, or similar cultural input is ever responsible for a crime like this - the reasons must run far deeper than a simply 'copycat' action.
The hitherto apocryphal tales of back legs in the wellies may have taken an even more perverse turn.

So a lot of the acts of violence including rapes etc cannot be attributed to computer games and the like as some experts proclaim. They all must be in cahoots with shyster lawyers to find a scapegoat I suppose!!
I suppose that some some psychos who have raped and killed young girls and are later found to have downloads of violent pornography on their PCs have not been influenced either ????
retrocop - I think the experts will say that the interest in violence is deep seated and complex, and it is those primal urges that feed both the interest in violent images and violent actions.

I believe perceived wisdom is that the two strands of behaviour have a common root cause, rather than the simplistic notion that one feeds the other and that watching violence makes someone violent.

Still of the same opinion. Of course you are?

//I don't think TV, or music, or similar cultural input is ever responsible for a crime like this - the reasons must run far deeper than a simply 'copycat' action.//
retrocop - To quote from your own link -

'While TV violence is not the only cause of aggressive or violent behavior, it is clearly a significant factor.'

I am of the same opinion - and so it seems is your expert source.
God, how terrible- that poor horse and the poor woman who has to live with what happened to it.

I hope they catch the perpetrators before they do it again.
You will say "I don't think it is ever responsible" That implies,to me , that it is NOT responsible.
However the experts say, "TV is not the only cause" That to me implies that TV IS a cause to violence as well as other factors.
retrocop - let me say that it is not 'solely' responsible - would that be better?
As you wish.
Whaqt is wrong with you both?

A horrible news story which you both have hijacked in your petty point scoring battle- it's beneath you gentlemen!
