lake is in Chambers as a North England word meaning to play or sport so LAKING looks to be it
.. and la is an alternative to 'lo' (didn't bother to look it up first time)
LA (look!) written downwards on KING (Carole King) = LAKING ('lake' and 'laik' being Northern English words for 'play')
