May I? I'd prefer - (St) Pancras - end of the line & ff's answer @ 11:32 (?)

Are you sure of the letters, Dave?
I can only think of 'PASCHAL' to fit the letters but can't parse anything.

(Am I right in thinking The Herald is a Catholic newspaper?)
I cannot get anything sensible to fit those letters either...sorry.
Can you give us the clues that got you them, please?
:-))
I presumed it was the Glasgow Herald...which is not catholic (as far as I know)
I thought Paschal too. Can see 'chap' in it (bloke)
(St) Paschal
Sorry, just not getting Paschal.
What is the definitin part of the clue, please?
^ definition
Is it a train station at the end of the line?
End of line, name of two popes .Last died in 1118
So....End of the line = paschal, the name of two Popes.

Now I'm not getting the rest of the wordplay either :-((
Chaps I see, but that leaves a and L to account for ....a can come from the clue, (after a) but I'm still missing the L
Any help would be welcome.

Thank you all.

I used a wordfinder and found Paschal which seemed to be the only word which fitted into this type of crossword. Unfortunately my computer is going so slowly that I couldn't type. Great work Danny Dannyk for your explanation !
Is it not just St Pashcal ( a good bloke ) minus the St (a street/a way)
Lady alex, see post at 13.22. St, Paschal - St
If it was that simple then why use the word 'bloke' instead of man
Sounds good to me, FF.
Thanks.
Clearly this crossword is way above my pay grade!
Thanks, Dannyk13, but I sid not understand it until FF explained it.
May I? I'd prefer -

(St) Pancras - end of the line & ff's answer @ 11:32 (?)
St Pancras is much more likely to be right!
Oops, Ta l-i-k that makes more sense than my solution.
