3d Retama
29d Swoons
31d Lathee
32d Bouts
Sorry 29d Spoons
swoons is only 6 letters.
I can see the courts but not the reversed busybodies
snoops would work if it is only 6

Thanks, Toalisi and fiction-factory! Sorry about 29d, it's 7 letters:
??O????
I have the grid in front of me and 29d is SIX letters!

I don't know if you have the theme? If not, then note the number of
the crossword!
Question Author
Very sorry about 29d! There was a misunderstanding, it's six letters, so snoops has to be good. Not sure I have the theme yet, but the number of the puzzle has to do with angels...I'll certainly get it. Meanwhile, I seek HINTS for these:

28a Hold gross reptile(5): ?R?SP ( GRASP?)
37a Man leaves seat to get oil(4): ?T?O(OTTO?)
41a Class for example rejected by students(5): ?E??S
35d Meat, not good for sheep(5): A??O?

Many thanks in advance!
otto(man)=seat
28A Yes, gr(oss) asp(reptile)
41a Genus - 'eg' (back) + 'NUS' (students)
35d (g)Ammon - Asian wild sheep
I think 29 is spoons not snoops - busybodies ( snoops ) turning up i.e reversed.
Cough, cough, 'I seek HINTS for these' ;-)))
I agree novalis- I did mean snoops reversed so spoons

Two more to complete...An answer for 18a:
Cross Australia westward going around Perth finally( 3 ): ?HO

And I still do not see where 8d fits. Just some HINTS for it...I have:
SH?U?
( At first I thought it was a homophone for tutu...but I could not make sense of it! )

Many thanks in advance!
18 Zho ( a cross)

Oz reversed around last of Perth - H

8d is connected with the theme ....Title puzzle 2222 = two two two two
or homophones thereof
Question Author
Thanks Toali, I had the answer all along without realizing it was connected to this theme, too! Thanks also, Mamyalyne! Interesting puzzle!
I also have sh?u? for 8d. A tutu is a short SKIRT (1a) but the U spoils that. HELP!!
Shrub
If you look up tutu in Chambers (and maybe other dictionaries?), you should see another definition, this one with the letters ''sh?u?'.
