Lady should be b!nt
They're not all bad. They'll take a few votes from Labour.
the green party have made a complete bolognese of running the council in brighton - their leader, the delightfully named Jason kitkat, himself concedes that their problems will make it very difficult for caroline lucas to be re-elected.
They won't take my vote from Labour !
The Defend our country and stay out of foreign wars is very similar to what AOG and others have been saying for years.
The immigration policy looks like a vote loser.
They won't take many votes from Labour, but I suspect this is where people who voted LibDem last time (myself) will vote.
//I suspect this is where people who voted LibDem last time (myself) will vote. //

Why?
Until the last election, I had never voted for any of the 3 main parties in the last 30 years. I voted LibDem last time. Brown wasn't a good Prime Minister. And I was unimpressed with Cameron in oppostion This time, I cannot vote for the Conservatives or LibDems because they have not been very good over the 5 years. Labour are a mess and I am pro Europe, so UKIP won't get my vote.
I believe everyone should vote, so even though the Greens aren't perfect, they are a lesser evil.

That is asuming we get a candidate this time, at the moment none of the parties other than the Labour incumbant have announcy their candidacy.

And amongst those 'others', were you not the one who was vigorously fighting your corner for us to stay out of Iraq?

What I did say in fact was to stay out of other people's wars, and defend our country.

AOG,
This is a New Judge quote, but many on the right on this site have echoed it.

// Our forces would be better employed in the UK helping to protect our borders and to root out any undesirable elements that do manage to get here. //

That is not too dis-similar to what the Greens are proposing.

except that the greens are proposing that we have no borders, so not sure what such a force would be expected to protect.

Yes but most likely you are missing the rest of the Judge's quote, like me he was only stating the sensible thing, and that is helping to protect our borders from IS rather than to be drawn into another war and sending our troops out to risk their lives fighting those savages.

Wasn't you also in agreement, please answer me that?
No need to protect borders. The Greens propose to make it legal for people living here to be members of Al Qaeda or Isis or the IRA. If we’re looking for the enemy, we won’t have far to look. What a bunch of loops!
She proposes an English Defence Force. I would rather vote for the EDL and they appear to be quite an odious lot but at least they may have this country's interest at heart more the the Loony Greens. Seems this loon wants us to be invaded by illegal immigrants, terrorists and anyone else who fancies their chances against Captain Mannering's elite.
well, thank goodness our defence forces are safe under the present government!

But people would sooner moan about a party that isn't in power than face up to what the ones that are in power are doing...
So what is your solution jno. As worrying as the military assets that the graph currently provides are you suggesting that the Greens are a better option who will provide big fat zeros to that graph in almost every asset that remains to the military?
Perhaps the Greens would wish to man this home defence force by the re-introduction of National Service?

At least that would help towards closing our borders, (well the 'incoming' ones at least) leave the 'out-going' ones open for all the rats abandoning ship.
With the rise in popularity of the right, and Labour not particularly attractive as a choice at the moment, it would be nice if there were a genuine left-of-centre party to choose as an alternative. And the Greens are... not that choice. Oh, well.
