Some pals and I went to see Kate Miller-Heidke last night, at Scala, near Kings Cross. Actually, I cut it a bit fine, and only just made it.

It was such a fab night. She's really good.

I'm sure a few other people have played in a few other places but, there we are ... gig of the week.

Seen her many a time, wonderful singer song writer.
She has performed at "A day on the green" which is a regular concert held in wineries here in Oz, with many musicians performing.
The lady won many awards for this song.

The facebook song, that's an Ozzy sense of humour, and sums up facebook perfectly IMHO.

I saw Amanda Palmer at the Camden Roundhouse last year.

Kate M-H made a guest appearance, and did the Facebook song.

It is very funny.

Just googled Camden Roundhouse, looks like a great venue.
The "day on the green" concerts are all open air, start about midday, end about midnight and hosted at wineries.....that helps :-)

Open air gigs at wineries ... that sounds blissful, 1ozzy.

I think the fact that we have (1) unreliable weather, and (2) rather small wineries, could be a drawback here.

heavens, is the Scala still going? They used to have all-night horror fim shows there and you could hear the tubes rumbling by underneath and shaking the foundations. I remember they showed Deep Throat once; the queue went right back to King's Cross. They also showed Clockwork Orange when it was banned; Warner Brothers sued and I think the cinema was closed down as a result.

It's a good venue. Looks big outside, but quite intimate inside.

And, after the gig, Kate MH came down to the bar to have a chat and sign CDs.
