27a Express tears over one secret agent. I have S?E?E?R. It looks like "SLEEPER" but I can't parse it. Help pls?

You are right danny- I wondered if the secret agent was M rather than being 'sleeper' but M+anag of tears didn't give me enough.

If it were "STEAMER" 15d would end in "A". The clue is " Impression left b wetness surrounding a match and I have "DATE STAMP" which I reckon is "DAMP" round "A TEST"

sleeper is definitely right. I was thinking a sleeper was a train so couldn't explain the 'tears over one' but danny has pointed out that the sleepers are under the train.
We assume your pattern is S?E??ER
