Suggested elsewhere that there is a word missing from clue to Indicate alternate letters of

SeTtEr ste + RILE

IMO there's an error - if the clue read -

"Uninspired, odd setter to get angry" (eg), it would work, using the odd letters of 'SeTtEr' + 'rile' (to get angry) - I can't see how it works as it stands.
