Sunday Express £1000 Crossword

25 across The Irish Gaelic name for Ireland I think is EIRE according to Collins English Dictionary but I have seen the answer given as ERSE which I think is a description of the language eg he is speaking erse . Can anyone confirm which is correct please.Many thanks.
