3 down. Clue: Servant girl with bible standing up (6) I have: ?A?S?L. I thought DAMSEL but a damsel is hardly a servant.
1 down. Clue: Old maid puts doctor under pressure (4). I have: ?R?G. DRAG? but again, can't see the word play. Help please.

damsel
prig
3 va ssal
sorry ignore mine
DR - doctor
G - symbol for a gram (weight/pressure)

Not sure, but this is a suggestion!
^^ corrrection - G - G force (pressure)
To doctor something is to rig it
Pressure = P
3d is Vassal? what way is that clued?
3d.Vassal
girl =lass
bible = av(authorised version)
Girl=lass......authorized version=av....reversed=vassal
girl = LASS, bible = A(uthorised) V(ersion), LASS-AV standing up = VASSAL. This should only work if it's a 'down', clue, not an 'across' one.
Thanks for that emeritus. I`m not any way near educated to take on a Dean Mayer crossword!
