Does anyone know why we're asked for our 'phone number before submitting completed crosswords. Just interested, that's all.

Is it so they can sell your details to telephone sales companies?
so that they can ring you if you win,but it's never happened to me yet1
i won a few years ago & they did1nt ring me!

They ring and try to sell you vouchers that give you a reduction on the paper, but only cost effective if you purchase every day.
Nobody has rung me yet - I take it I didn't win
why do they want your d.o.b on the Sat monthly £500 crossword in the Telegraph ?
