The answer seems to be Cider for drink. Don't get the first part of the clue.

Well, cried is obviously an anagram of cider. Five is presumably referring to 5a and/or 5d in the same crossword.

There is only 5a. It is "Sort Of".
But since there is no 5D, it does not make sense why include "Not Down".

Sort of Cried may indicate anagram of cried.
